Airlines frequently witness some accidents during the flight journeys. Recently, a plane crashed in Nepal, and many lives ended, where few people were injured. The cause of the accident was first unknown as there was extreme hassle, and efforts to save lives were taking place.
The incident took at least 18 passengers' lives and a child. One of them was from Yemen. This domestic plane from Shaurya Airlines had 19 people on board; the plane slipped off the runway at the time of taking off on 24th July from Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal.
There is only one survivor of the incident; the pilot, who is receiving the required treatment in the hospital, was rescued from the fire that burnt down the plane. The pilot has injuries on his eyes and forehead, but his life was saved.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal issued a statement saying Shaurya Airlines' domestic place was headed to the resort town of Pokhara from the Kathmandu Airport. The plane took off at 11:11 am, and just when it took a right, the Nepal plane crashed and caught fire, which resulted in the killing of 17 company employees and two crew members while the pilot got injured. After the incident took place, the services at the Tribhuvan International Airport ceased for a while and resumed later.
One of the officials from the airport said, " the accident happened as soon as the plane left the ground, in not even a minute." The Airport authortiris are still not able to conform the reason behind this accident.
Initially recognized as the passengers of the flight, Priza Khatiwada and her four years old child, who died in the accident, were later found out to be the family of one of the technicians of Shaurya Airlines. The child, Adhiraj Sharma, was the son of Manuraj Sharma, who works as a technician at the airline.
According to the local media reports, the flight that crashed and burnt down the lives of 18 people was on a test flight. It was a C Check, which is extremely essential and takes place every now and then. However, it still has not been cleared that why the test flight was carrying so many passengers. It was headed to Hangar in the Pokhara International Airport.
Nepal's Aviation industry has been serving a poor safety record as there have been 50 crashes in three decades. The country ranks 33 out of 207 countries in the plan rashed record from 1990 to 2023.
