Named after former Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi, the Delhi Airport is known as Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) and is the busiest airport in the country. Not only in India, but the airport is also the busiest in the Asian continent. The airport is located in Palam and has good connectivity with Delhi NCR region, having various modes of transport available through which you can easily reach there. 1. Terminal 1

The terminal 1 of the Delhi Airport serves domestic arrivals and departures. The newly upgraded terminal has become the largest domestic terminal in the country, with an enhanced annual capacity for passengers. Advanced technology and new infrastructure promote a seamless airport transit experience and ensure the provision of smoother, more sustainable, and more innovative travel experiences. 

Transport to or from the airport: Multiple modes of transport are available to travel to or from terminal 1 of the airport.  

  • Via Shuttle services, you can travel within the terminals. This service is available for both passengers and airport staff. It is located at Lane 1, arrives once every 20 minutes, and is operational 24/7. If you have a boarding pass, you can get free transit from the KIOKSKs at the airport. 
  • DMRC Feeder Buses are also available to and from Terminal 1. The pickup and drop off of the same are available near the cab pick up and drop, such as OLA, Meru, Uber, Mega Cars, Carzonement, etc. 
  • You can also travel to or from T1 by airport metro. The Magenta Line metro takes you to Terminal 1, and you can take a metro to the Magenta Line by interchanging lines. The metro is not available to travel between Terminal 1 and Terminal 3. 

2. Terminal 2

One such terminal of the Delhi Airport that caters to budgeted airlines on the domestic route is Terminal 2. Though it serves low-cost airlines, it offers passengers an efficient and comfortable travel experience. This terminal was transformed in 2017 to improve the services and refurbish the airport's facilities. It is built closer to Terminal 3 and connects through a pedestrian walkway for easy connectivity. 

Transport to or from the airport:- Besides the walkway from Terminal 3, other transport options are available to and from Terminal 2:

  • Airport Shuttles are available for transit between the airport's terminals. The air shuttle pick-up is located near the VIP parking services of T2. If you show the boarding pass to the ticket officer on the bus, you can get free travel on the transit bus to the supposed terminal. 
  • Terminal 3 Airport Express Metro helps you reach Terminal 2, which is connected nearby. You can also take the Magenta Line metro and then board a DMRC feeder bus to the terminal. The IGI Airport Express Metro runs its first train at 4.45 a.m. and the last at 11.30 p.m. 
  • Cab services to and from Terminal 2 are also available through OLA, Meru, Uber, WTi cabs, Mega Cabs, and Crazonement. Airport taxis can also be booked from the airport terminal. 

3. Terminal 3

One of the biggest terminals in the world with four runaways, it was reconstructed and inaugurated in 2010. This terminal handles around 40 million passengers each year. It operates both international and domestic arrival and departure flights. This terminal is a hub for many international and domestic airlines. It has world-class amenities with five levels, named from first to fourth. 

Transport to and from the airport:- Like both T1 and T2, there are various transport facilities available to travel to and from terminal 3 of the IGI Airport: 

  • Airport shuttle for transit between terminals
  • Orange Line or Airport Express Metro Route 
  • Airport Cabs and DMRC Feeder bus
