Is it possible to fly without an ID?

As per the official website of TSA, you may be given permission to fly or travel with your concerned airline. However, there are conditions that the concerned flier has to fulfill, and those are listed below; please have a look:

  • Complete the Verification--- Once you arrive at the airport, either your ID card is stolen, broken, or otherwise, the official will ask you to complete the entire verification process. This includes the aggregation of your personal information, including name, current address, and other crucial things.
  • Passport--- If you have a passport, you may not need to present the other ID card or verification proof, as the official may take all the details from it.

NOTE: You must remember that if you decline to cooperate with the officials by providing the required identification information, the officials will not continue with your identification process, and you may be denied access to your flight.

What if your passport is expired?

If your passport validity has expired and you still have your travel date, you only need to request that the TSA officers allow you to travel. (This may only be applicable within the US.) However, in the case of International travel, you will require an updated passport.
