Ongoing tensions between Isral and Iran have led Air India to suspend flight operations to/from Tel Aviv. In the backdrop of this, the Tata-group-owned airline is also offering a full refund to its passengers.

"We are continuously monitoring the situation and are offering a full refund to our passengers with confirmed bookings for travel to and from Tel Aviv. The safety of our guests and crew remains our topmost priority." --- Air India.

However, Air India's service suspension is no news!! Post Hamas' attack on the Israeli City, it terminated all of its services on October 2023, which resumed after a span of 5 months or on March 3.

Historical Background

Post-Iranian Revolution of 1979, both the countries Iran and Israel developed adverse relationships. Not only this but also the ideological and religious differences have fueled this adversity. As per the report, the Muslim population in Iran is dominant, or around 94%, while for Israel, it is Jews who are above 75%.

Their war became the world's headline when Hamas launched an attack that took away the lives of 1200 dwellers, and to retaliate, Israel vowed to eliminate

Not long before, in the month of July 2024, there were reports of the killing of a high-ranking Hezbollah official with the name Shukr in Lebanon's capital, and Israel suspects the Shukr's involvement in a recent rocket strike that claimed 12 lives in the Golan Heights, the area under Israel. However, he rejects such linkages!!

Claims.

As per recent reports, the tensions in the Middle East rose to new heights after the killings of two high-profile leaders in Hamas, including a senior Hezbollah commander in Lebanon. Iran, which finances both militant groups, called for retaliation against Israel for such an act.

The US has deployed Navy fighter Jets to a base in the Middle East to protect Israel amid such rising tension between Israel and Iran.

Based on certain reports, Iranian-funded Iraqi Militias have resumed launching attacks on the US forces bases in Iraq and Syria, following a strike in Jordan that killed three American Soldiers and led to a series of retaliatory US Strikes.

As per the Iran Claims, the US is responsible for the assassination of Haniyeh as it backs Israel. However, the US does not affirm such claims made by them.

With this issue, the Tata-owned company Air India decided to suspend all its aviation services to/from Tel Aviv and will refund 100% to those who booked their itinerary with them to the concerned Middle East country.

Current Consequences.

Amid such militant attacks, Palestinians are fleeing around Khan Younis (Gaza's second largest city) in Southern Gaza, where the Israeli military began a new assault. It also had experienced disastrous destruction during air and ground operations earlier in the year. This led to a humanitarian crisis that reduced the essential items available, including food, hygiene, water, medicines, etc.

Such  Middle-East countries' unrest has not only disrupted the aviation sector but also the sea routes where ships are being targeted, ultimately hampering the essentials to reach the desired destination.
